It compares Event Capture to waveform capture, outlines optimal configuration practices, and demonstrates how the Event Change Table Report provides granular data for in-depth analysis of power events. The paper also discusses memory management, event grouping, and practical examples to guide effective deployment. **Key topics include:** \- Introduction to Event Capture Function \- Event Capture vs. Waveform Capture \- Event Change Table Report: Data and Interpretation \- Configuring Event Capture: Nominal Voltage, Threshold, and Minimum Event Time \- Memory Management and Channel Handling \- Super-Events and Grouping Logic \- Practical Examples and Use Cases **Why utilities should care:** Event Capture enables precise identification and analysis of short-duration voltage sags and swells, using minimal memory while providing cycle-level detail. This supports root cause analysis, efficient troubleshooting, and optimized resource allocation for power quality management.
