Abstract
One of the most visible customer-facing challenges an electric utility can face comes in the form of voltage interruptions. From the short, fraction-of-a-second momentary to the prolonged, multi-hour (or even – as in the event of natural disasters – multi-day) sustained interruptions, the consequences – both direct and indirect – can be somewhat varied.
This paper is going to tackle the issue of a common phenomenon occurring after a prolonged interruption: Cold Load Pickup.
