Harmonic Calculations

Harmonics and interharmonics may be computed by using a DFT on the raw time series waveform data.  This frequency decomposition is a powerful way to analyze waveform distortion.

A periodically distorted waveform may be decomposed into combination of sine waves with multiples of the powerline frequency; these are known as harmonics. 

 

In PQ Canvass, users may quickly and easily perform harmonic analyses by looking at waveform capture records.
